 Solar Credit Scheme
The Solar Credit Scheme allows small generation (small solar power systems) units to generate 3 times the RECs for the first 1.5kW. However, the price of RECs varies over time and fluctuates in relation to the number of RECs available on the market - just like shares. Read more about Solar Credits
Solar Homes and Communities Plan The SHCP started in 2000 and ended in June 2009. The government allocated $8,000 rebate to install PV solar power systems succefully. If you want to check if your rebate has been granted, please refer to the DEHWA website.
Rebates for Schools WA schools can combine Federal and State grants, receiving up to $62,000 per campus. Both grants are available for government and private schools. It takes about one month to receive an approval for any of the grants.
WA Schools grant The WA Solar Schools Program supports the installation of solar (photovoltaic / PV) power systems in WA schools. For solar power projects with an installed generating capacity of at least 950W, the WA Solar School Program will contribute up to $12,000 (ex GST) for metropolitan schools and up to $13,000 (ex GST) for regional schools. Schools must contribute a minimum of $1,000 (ex GST) towards the cost of the system. Primary, middle and high schools are eligible to apply to the program.
National Solar School Program (NSSP) The National Solar Schools Program offers grants of up to $50,000 (ex GST) to install solar and other renewable power systems, solar hot water systems, rainwater tanks and a range of energy efficiency measures. You will need to install a minimum of 2kW power system to be eligible for $50,000. Primary and secondary schools are eligible to apply for the NSSP.
